Seville, beautiful and diverse

At the foot of the Castle stands this unusual bronze monument entitled “Fernanda and Bernarda” made by Pedro Hurtado in 2005. The Jimenez Peña sisters were two great famous flamenco singers from Utrera.

The sculpture stands in the centre of Ximénez Sandoval Square, next to a fountain and surrounded by plants and flowers typical in Andalusia.

The Plaza Mayor is one of Osuna’s most iconic urban spaces. It is located in the historical and monumental centre of the ducal town, at the foot of the hill where the Collegiate Church of Santa Maria stands. Several main streets -Sevilla, Tia Mariquita, Asistente Arjona, San Antón, Luis de Molina and Carrera- converge here.

This spring rises about 2 km from the centre of Estepa (Seville) in the Sierra del Becerrero. Its waters are channelled to the famous Fuente de Roya, where the townsfolk have been drawing water since 1733 and freshening up in a natural setting. It has also been used as a watering place for livestock herded along a nearby drover’s road.

This fountain dates back, at least, to the 16th century. It is located near a drover’s road, known as the Cordel de la Higuera, which leads to the Morón livestock trail.

The country estate, also known as Hacienda La Fuenlonguilla, is located half a kilometre along the road SE-457. It dates back to the mid-19th century, more specifically 1858. It was used for agricultural and livestock activities. The Hacienda’s original olive oil mill is still in perfect condition, as is the rest of the complex.

This area was renovated in the 1980s. It was transformed into a public square under the design and direction of Francisco Moreno Galván. It consists of a collonaded courtyard reminiscent of the cloister arcades of a convent. There is a modest fountain in the centre, and a cypress in a corner, reminiscent of the one about which Gerardo Diego wrote and sang.

Fuenlonguilla Park is located to the south of the town, at the end of the promenade of the same name, next to the Hacienda Nuestra Señora del Carmen, commonly known as La Fuenlonguilla.
