Santa Clara Convent

This convent, which disappeared after Mendizábal's disentailment, remained standing until a few decades ago. After its demolition to make way for the present construction, only what was the front garden of the convent and the doorway of the church remain.

Encarnación Monastery

Much of the cloister of the Monastery of the Incarnation has been converted into a Museum of Sacred Art, which is structured around the main cloister. The Museum consists of 4 rooms that house a significant collection of the Child Jesus, goldwork and notable sculptures.

La Mercedes Church and Tower

The current La Merced Church was built in 1650, although it was extensively renovated in the second half of the 18th century. The friars arrived in Osuna in 1609. They initially settled in the Shrine to Santa Ana, on the outskirts of the city. After two failed attempts, they built a new monastery on its current site in 1637.

The present-day Santa Clara Church is what remains of the disappeared namesake temple; a monastery founded in 1498 by the sisters Juana and Elvira González de Lucenilla y de Benjumea and run by the Poor Clare sisters.

The monastery was founded in 1631 by Rodrigo Ponce de León, 4th Duke of Arcos. For seven years, the Convent was relocated in various outbuildings until the Lords of Marchena decided to place within the ducal estate.

It was designated a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) as a Historic-Artistic Site in 1965.

The Cerro de San Cristóbal Monumental Site sits on a plateau atop the hill. This elongated almond-shaped compound is 450 metres long and 175-metres at its widest. It is considered the core area of the original Estepa settlement.
