Semana Santa Estepa

Seville enchants

A stately, barque-neoclassical building built in 1755 supported by robust pilasters.

A four-sided masonry monolith, decorated with Sevillian tiles and with emblems to commemorate this national event held on 24 and 25 September 2011, organised by the Muy Antigua Hermandad de la Vera-Cruz y Caridad.

The monument was unveiled on 25 September 2011.

The Confraternity of the True Cross in Brenes has several display cases in which they exhibit the valuables of the Confraternity.

This exhibition space is divided into two levels and showcases the exceptional artistic heritage put together by this historical Confraternity, which dates back to the late 15th century. The collection primarily consists of one-of-a-kind objects worn by the titular images and other items used in the processions, including the floats.

Marchena’s Holy Week is famous for its many traditions. The images, accoutrement and participation of the Confraternities give the Holy Week a powerful appeal.

The Chapel of the Cruz de Arriba is located in the Plazoleta de la Cruz de Arriba. It is the seat of the Confraternity of the Santa Cruz de Arriba and María Santísima del Rosario, a 17th-century image.

Throughout its almost five centuries of history, the ”Hermandad de la Soledad”  has put together a meaningful and remarkable artistic heritage. The Confraternity is also home to the remains of an important mosaic, dated between the 1st- and 2nd centuries, that appeared during the construction works.
