Alcalá de Guadaira-Riberas de Guadaíra
Ribera del Guadaíra Natural Monument

The River Guadaíra, on its course through Alcalá, gives rise to many riverside parks, in total around 120 hectares of green areas. These zones were declared a Natural Monument by the Governing Board of the Andalusian Regional Government on the 30th December 2011, in acknowledgment of its natural and eco-cultural values.

Sierra Morena de Sevilla Natural Park, located in the north of the province of Seville, is a protected natural area that was declared a natural park in 1989.

Reserva Natural Complejo Endorreico de Lantejuela
Complejo Endorreico de La Lantejuela Natural Reserve

This lagoon complex, located between Lantejuela and Osuna, is what remains of a vast 600-km2 wetland that extended until Ecija.

These nine lagoons have exceptional value because they are the last lagoons that remain of what used to be one of the most extensive wetlands in the Guadalquivir Depression.

Utrera Complejo Endorreico Natural Reserve

Like the rest of the wetlands located in the strip between the Baetic mountain range and the Guadalquivir Depression, this wetland area consists of three shallow lagoons: Zarracatín, Arjona and Alcaparrosa. Its seasonal nature makes it dependent on dependent of direct rainfall recharge; therefore, it is usually dry in the summer or during persistent drought.

The Laguna del Gosque is an endorheic and seasonal wetland. It is located on flat terrain, in an area of undulating relief and gentle hills, near the Sierra de los Caballos, in the south of the province of Seville.

This natural enclave is one of the most important in Europe. It is an extremely important wintering, migratory and breeding area for many bird species. Furthermore, it is one of the last havens for endangered wildlife species such as the Imperial eagle or the Iberian lynx.

El Cuervo. Laguna de los Tollos
Los Tollos Lagoon

Los Tollos Lagoon is located between Jerez de la Frontera and El Cuervo, in the provinces of Cadiz and Seville. It is considered of special ecological relevance, owing to the significant biological communities it harbours, and the relationship that humans have established with this space over time.
