Exaltación de la Saeta

Since 1987, it is customary in Lent to celebrate the Exaltation of the Saeta in El Viso. This event is part of the cultural activities that the Town Council organises to promote music and traditions typical of the Holy Week.

The “Exaltación” seeks to make known the “saeta” and give visibility to this flamenco genre; a legacy passed on to modern “cantaores” since the end of the 19th century. During the exaltation, the public can enjoy the nuances of the different saetas sung throughout Andalusia. The line-up includes not only local singers, but also other top artists from various Andalusian towns.
