The Casas Cuevas Archaeological Site, opened in 2011, is a cultural facility located in the Morería district, in the heart of the town, next to the remains of the Almohad Castle and the San Pedro Apóstol Parish Church.

It is part of the eastern necropolis of the Roman city of Celti. After being abandoned for centuries, it has arrived to our days having been reused as self-built houses.

The Casas Cuevas Archaeological Site consists of caves, some natural and others man-made, used in Roman times for funerary purposes. These were eventually integrated into the village’s urban landscape. This necropolis was initially located outside the walls of Celti, and separated by the Moreras Stream.
