Chapel of Nuestra Señora de La Salud

This is a late 19th century building, its exact year of construction being 1891. It was built by the resident of this town, Francisco de Paula Gálvez Gómez, in gratitude to the Virgin for having saved his life from Asian cholera in 1890.

This small chapel has a single doorway at the end giving access to the interior with a single nave, whose chancel is decorated with frescoes representing angels and floral motifs. The main altarpiece, made of wood, is presided over by the image of the Virgin after whom the chapel is named, the rest of the images being standard. At present, this image is venerated by many people from Gilena and the town's fair is dedicated to it.

During the years in which the restoration work was carried out, the image of Nuestra Señora de la Salud was transferred to the parish church of the Immaculate Conception.
