El Pilarillo Fountain

This fountain is located on the slopes of the Castillo de Hierro, 1 km from the town centre on the A-363 road in the direction of Olvera.

Its water has been flowing for centuries and is believed to come from a spring inside the castle. The rocks through which the groundwater is assumed to circulate are of the carbonate type. It consists of three basins and has a very low flow rate, although it never runs out. The water is used for agriculture and livestock.
