The Convent of Las Teresas is located in the former palace of the Counts of Palma, a fascinating Mudejar building erected in the 14th and 15th centuries.

The conventual church, originally from the 16th century although later extensively renovated, is modest in size. It has a single nave covered with barrel vaults and lunettes and a presbytery topped with a dome. It houses baroque altarpieces with images of varying quality, including those of Saint Joseph and the Immaculate Conception from Roldán’s studio, a Child Jesus by Ribas and an impressive Crucified Christ by Alonso Cano’s studio.

The walls of the church are covered with 18th-century paintings, such as St Francis, ECCE Homo, Prayer in the Garden and Adoration of the Shepherds.

Finally, the entrance to the church is worthy of note. It has an attractive Mudejar latticework from the second half of the 14th century.
