The brand "El Clavel" was founded in 1896 in Cazalla de la Sierra, a town of whitewashed houses surrounded by holm and cork oaks in the middle of the Sierra Norte of Seville. It has become a household name, among other things, thanks to the universal fame of its spirits, which have included our famous Anis del Clavel since 1896.

The tradition of Cazalla's spirits dates back to the 13th century, when the Carthusian monks, established in the 15th century, made improvements to the Arab stills, making this town in Seville a benchmark for distillers all over the world. In addition to their artisan tradition, "El Clavel" has inherited their legendary formula known as "Essence of Angel". Handed down from generation to generation, this special bouquet they added to their spirits is what gives our products their distinctive taste and provides high-quality liqueurs to suit the most demanding palates.

Description of the tour

What was originally an inn has been home to our distillery since 1896. Since then, the old distillation room has been preserved with original copper stills that have been operating for over two hundred years old.

During the tour, visitors are shown the complete manufacturing process, distillations, blends and the final product in a unique setting that reflects the effort and commitment to recover and preserve tradition and artisan techniques.

At the end of the tour you will be offered a tasting of our finest products.
