Seville enchants

A megalithic settlement and a necropolis formed by fourteen tombs were located to the east of the village. The tombs are lined along the River Guadiamar and nearby streams over nine kilometres.

The Valencina Archaeological Zone is located in the highest part of the Aljarafe of Seville, extending beyond its boundaries to the neighboring town of Castilleja de Guzmán. Its extension of more than 400 hectares makes it one of the largest settlements of the third millennium BC.

The necropolis consists of a series of burial mounds scattered on both sides of the path. Two mounds, known as El Palomar and Cañada Real, have already been excavated. The latter is located on the right-hand side of the path, a few metres from the town centre.
