Semana Santa Estepa

Seville enchants

This old Muslim fortress is a listed National Monument. The Aguzaderas Castle is located about 3 km from the town of El Coronil.

The Castle has a quadrangular compound with four towers at the corners and two semi-circular ones in the middle of two of its walls. The imposing Homage Tower has two spacious rooms.

Estepa’s keep or donjon is an albarrana tower built by the master-builder Santiaguista Lorenzo Suárez de Figueroa in the late 14th and early 15th century.

The Los Molares Castle is the main monument of this Sevillian town. King Fernando IV granted the property of Los Molares to Lope Gutiérrez de Toledo between 1310 and 1336. This property was a small expanse of land on which a fortress would be built. It is likely that there already was a tower from an earlier period.

The Alcázar de la Puerta de Sevilla is located at the Plaza de Blas Infante. The Alcázar or fortified palace stands over the Puerta de Sevilla, making the compound virtually unassailable.

Declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1985.

Located atop a strategic hill to the south of the town, Alanís’ most emblematic building has been a silent witness of the historical events of the town since the late fourteenth century, when it likely built.

This is a Muslim castle, probably Almohad or even earlier. It was transformed and adapted as a residence for the Lords of Fuentes between the 15th and 16th centuries. In the early 14th century, King Alfonso XI bestowed the Castle upon Alvar Pérez de Guzmán.
