Seville, beautiful and diverse

Seville and its province are known for being one of the hottest places in Andalusia, especially when the heat is more intense during the summertime.

The Minilla reservoir is a perfect place to spend a day with the family, enjoying the scenery and surroundings, having barbecues and going for walks.

It is also an ideal place for fishing, given the easy accessibility and the low level of pollution. When certain kinds of insect hatch or during the spawning season there is an abundance of cyprinids.

The Pintado reservoir is located on the Viar river, between the provinces of Badajoz and Seville, in a mountain area of gentle relief and moderate altitude, typical of the Sierra Norte of Seville. It is the largest reservoir in the Natural Park, and it is also fed by the River Rivera de Benalija.

The Torre del Águila reservoir is located to the southeast of El Palmar de Troya, in an area of small hills, with altitudes between 144 and 51 m, and gentle slopes. It has two main arms; the western branch receives its inflow from the Santiago Stream.

Some 17 kilometres to the southeast, the River Corbones flows into a vast body of water, the reservoir built for irrigation purposes.

La Puebla de Cazalla’s reservoir was completed in the mid-1990s to irrigate over 3,400 hectares of land in the municipalities of La Puebla de Cazalla and Marchena.

From a geological point of view, the Malpasillo reservoir is part of the Sub-Baetic unit of the Betic mountain ranges.

The Cordobilla Natural Park, with an area of 1,460 hectares, is located on the River Genil. It is reached by the road that connects Badolatosa with Puente Genil. It is surrounded by agricultural land, in an area where the predominant crops are olive groves, cereals and some other irrigated crops.
