Seville, beautiful and diverse

Sevilla

After leaving the church of Santiago de Alcalá de Guadaíra, admiring the sight of the old late 19th century British factory of Adufe and following the flow of the river, you arrive in Seville.

Alcalá de Guadaíra

After walking through the streets and squares of Utrera, you first take a paved road and then a dirt track towards Alcalá, following the River Guadaíra to your right. Then you will start the ascent to the Cuesta Carretilla to pass through the pine forests of Oromana and cross the two bridges over the river Guadaíra, one of them from Roman times, into the old town.

Dos Hermanas

Continuing on your way towards the old capital of Andalusia you leave another region behind you, La Campiña, to enter the Guadalquivir-Doñana area.

Pedrera

Its name could originate from the working of its quarries, where the material necessary for the construction of the road that led from Estepa to Seville and the production of cannonballs was extracted.

The municipality boasts areas of outstanding natural beauty such as the Sierra de la Cruz, the Fuente de la Higuera and the El Búho Nature Reserve.

Los Corrales

After passing through several rural areas, you reach this town, in whose surrounding area archaeological remains of the first civilisations that settled in the area, Iberians and Romans (Ruins of Repla), have been discovered.

Villanueva de San Juan

In the Tertiary period, the area where the town is located was occupied by large lakes or perhaps completely covered by the sea. The archaeological remains discovered suggest that the area was inhabited in the Palaeolithic period.

Pruna

After crossing rugged areas such as the Conejo hill, El Pintado, El Alcornocal, Las Arenosas and El Pilarillo you come to Pruna, whose name alludes to the prunus plum forests that can be found in the surrounding area. In this area there are archaeological remains from the Neolithic period.
