Cycle touring route: Coripe / Montellano (Greenway)

We leave Coripe along the main avenue, looking for the signs to the Greenway along the A8126. We will descend a steep slope to the River Guadalporcún and, after crossing it, we will have to turn right following the signs to the Greenway.

The route of the Greenway is 15 kilometres long and passes through 10 tunnels, the largest of which are illuminated.

When we arrive at Puerto Serrano Station, we will have to continue straight on through the car park and a tarmac road on our right. At the end of this road we will also turn right onto the A375, where we will have to turn right again towards Montellano, where we will also arrive after 8.5 kilometres.

The Greenway of La Sierra is an old disused railway infrastructure that has been reconditioned for tourist use (hiking, cycle touring and horse riding). It is the only one recognised as a Route of Tourist Interest in Andalusia.

The Peñón de Zaframagón Nature Reserve has an important colony of griffon vultures, among other birds of prey.

El Chaparro de la Vega, a holm oak over 700 years old, with a crown of 23 metres in diameter, declared a natural monument.

Narrow pavement with less than 500 vehicles per day. Section from Coripe to the Greenway. Compacted soil on the Greenway section. Asphalt from Puerto Serrano to Montellano, road with hard shoulder and a daily traffic of 2.00-5.00 vehicles.
