2730
1

This is one of the oldest and most prestigious in Spain, dating back to the second half of the 17th century. Over the course of these 300 years, it has been one of the most constant breeders in the country, breeding horses internationally renowned for their uniformity and functionality.

Escalera's horses are Spanish Purebreds (SPB), with a dark brown coat. According to the existing documentation, the farm has followed the same breeding programme since 1731, providing horses to the Royal Court of Portugal.

Its breeding programme has been linked to military stud farms for generations. Most of the military horses come from El Hierro de Escalera.
