Santiponce Itálica

An immense legacy waiting to be discovered

Casa de las Columnas (Casa de la Virgen)

A stately, barque-neoclassical building built in 1755 supported by robust pilasters. The entrance is framed by paired, semi-detached Tuscan columns with a high base. The coat of arms of the Quintanilla family is emblazoned in the centre. Inside, past the basket arch and the artistic double gate, is a four-sided courtyard with mixtilinear arches supported by white marble columns. Nowadays, it is the seat of the Confraternity of Our Lady of Setefilla and a small museum of sacred art dedicated to the Holy Image and its traditions.
