Church of Santa Cruz

Temple completed in the 18th century. Between the 17th and 19th centuries it was the church of the Convent of the Holy Spirit of the Clergy Minor. Today, its characteristic and slender belfry, two bodies high and located on the façade, is one of the most unique architectural elements of the church and the street where it is located.

Inside, the church has a very deep presbytery raised on steps, formed by three short sections covered by barrel vaults and finished in a flat head. This presbytery has a neoclassical style temple in its centre, which is crowned by an image representing the "Faith" made by Blas Molner, and inside which the Virgin of Peace is housed, a polychrome carving of the Virgin and Baby Jesus attributed to the famous 16th century Castilian sculptor living in Seville, Jerónimo Hernández.

In this church and in the year 1904, the Brotherhood of La Santa Cruz was instituted, which undertakes its religious route on the evening of Easter Tuesday in Seville.
