The Osuna’s Collegiate Church is a jewel of Renaissance architecture. Founded by Juan Téllez Girón, 4th Count of Ureña, it replaced the old medieval parish church. It is unclear who the architects were.

The luminous and spacious Church has a hall plan, while on the outside it looks like a fortress. This austere exterior appearance is in stark contrast with the rich-decorated interior.

Although the Collegiate Church now has three doors, another two were walled up in the 18th century. The Puerta de la Cuesta is opposite the Monastery of the Incarnation and provides direct access to the Gospel nave. The Puerta del Sol allows direct entrance to the Epistle nave.

The Collegiate Church can be accessed through the Patio del Panteón de los Duques de Osuna o Santo Sepulcro, built in 1544-1555. It is one of the most beautiful examples of Spanish Renaissance. After the courtyard is the entrance to the Pantheon’s Sacristy that leads to the Chapel of Our Lady of the Pomegranate, an exceptional 16th-century sculpture attributed to Guillén Ferrant.

The Collegiate Church of Osuna and the Sepulchre of the Dukes is the work of two great architects: Diego de Riaño and Martín de Gaínza. It houses a vast collection of diverse cultural assets, including paintings, sculptures, gold and silverwork and altarpieces. Most of these artworks were created various artists, such as José de Ribera, Fabrizio de Santafede, Juan de Zamora, Hernando de Esturmio, Juan de Mesa, Martínez Montañés, Roque Balduque, Duque Cornejo and Pedro de Ribadeo.

It is listed as a Site of Cultural Property.
