Parish Church of Santiago el Mayor

The church was built in the 18th century. It contains images and canvases from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The church has a Latin cross floor plan with three naves in three sections, a transept, a chancel and chapels on either side. The naves are separated by semicircular arches supported by white limestone Tuscan columns.

The façade is divided into three sections clearly separated by giant pilasters that reach the cornice. The doorway is located at the end of the nave. The door with a semicircular arch is flanked by two pairs of Doric pilasters on which an entablature has been placed. The ensemble is completed with a triangular pediment decorated with mouldings on pilasters. The oculi are bordered in yellow on the pediment of the doorway and in the two side naves. It has a three-span belfry crowned by a triangular pediment.

The polychromy of the pilasters, cornices and the edges of the doors and windows in yellow is an interesting feature. There is abundant mural painting throughout the church, modern works by Juan Montes signed in 1962.
