The Cerro del Hierro information point is in a public area of about 360 hectares, where the Cerro del Hierro was declared a Natural Monument on 1 October 2003.

The appearance of this 121-hectare area is due to the mining activity that was carried out there from Roman times until the last century. The iron in the rocks that is the origin of this mining activity has left a landscape made up of spectacular shapes and colours.

There are architectural remains of interest from the mining period such as the English architecture of the Cerro settlement, along with the church and the engineers' houses. In these houses you can find the Cerro del Hierro information point, set up in a strategic location within the complex. It consists of a reception area and an open-plan room, a small auxiliary room and a toilet. In addition to providing information about the possibilities offered by the surroundings and the Sierra Morena Natural Park of Seville in general, the centre offers the possibility of organising active tourism activities in the area (bicycle rental, guided tours) and the sale of local products.

In 2017 this facility was recognised by the Seville Provincial Council with the 4th Industrial Tourism Award, in the category of Industrial Heritage.
