The Judería de Sevilla Interpretation Centre, located in the heart of the Barrio de Santa Cruz, is the starting point for the routes that go through this true urban labyrinth to take tourists through the old Jewish quarter.

The 1,700 year history of the Spanish Jews, the Sephardic people, includes a thriving economy, rich culture and persecution. The Jewish quarter of Seville was the largest in Andalusia during the Middle Ages and the second most important in the Kingdom of Castile.

The Judería de Sevilla Interpretation Centre offers an exhibition about the Jews who lived in the quarter and the transformations that took place therein from the Middle Ages to the present day. It also tells stories about the Hebrew people that lived here and the people who left this land, the women and the Diaspora, their culture, uses and customs, songs, sayings and experiences.

The Permanent Exhibition displays a large number of manuscripts, from those linked to the Inquisition itself to the symbolic painting "Expulsion of the Jews from Seville", offering different keys about characters and places in Seville's Jewish Quarter.

The Judería de Sevilla Interpretation Centre collection of objects offers a figurative walk through the history of the Jewish presence in the town. It can be completed with a guided tour of the old Jewish quarter and an extensive programme of cultural and educational activities: "savouring the Jewish quarter", concerts, "time travel", "legends and mysteries of the Jewish quarter", etc.
