San Gil Confraternity Museum

Located in Ecija’s historical centre, the “Casa-Museo Hermandad de San Gil” was created when the Sacramental Confraternity and Royal Archconfraternity (1563) found adequate space to carry out their mission and confraternity activities.

The Museum houses a permanent exhibition of the Confraternity’s artistic heritage, consisting of the sculptures of the patron saints as well as their accoutrements. The three titular images are by anonymous artists: Coronation of the Lord (17th century), Holy Christ of Health (16th century) and Our Lady of Sorrows, a Sevillian-style sculpture from the 17th or early 18th century (José Montes de Oca is a possible option).
