In Seville, La Maestranza Theatre offers an international stage inaugurated by Her Majesty The Queen on May 2nd, 1991. Designed by architects Luis Marin de Terán and Aurelio del Pozo, the building was named "the Magefesa” by the Sevillians because of its resemblance to a pressure cooker with a dome over 47 meters high.

With a capacity for over 1,800 people, its stage is one of the most important in Europe due to its large dimensions. For the last 25 years, La Maestranza Theatre, which is also the permanent venue where the Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla (Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra, ROSS) prepares and offers its regular concert season, has been leading the cultural offer of Andalusia and has been part of the group of opera theatres of international reference in Spain. Opera, dance, symphonic concerts, solo recitals, great international stars, flamenco or chamber music nourish a very diverse offer, massively supported by the public and unanimously endorsed by specialized critics.

Its location in a privileged setting in historic Seville, its exceptional technical characteristics, the quality and variety of its programming and, above all, the enthusiastic response of the public, have made this theatre the great stage space of the South in just a few years.
