In 1984 the first exhibition of handling horse-drawn carriages took place in the town, in the bullring of the Real Maestranza de Caballería in Seville, organised by the Club de Enganches de Andalucía.

During the following years, the exhibition became an unmissable event on the Seville calendar, and is considered one of the largest carriage shows in the world, with a high level of quality in terms of the carriages on display.

It is held on Sunday, the first day of the Feria, and consists of a competition of traditional carriages, i.e. horse-drawn carriages, where all the carriages are old, restored and pulled by magnificent horses. The exhibition begins with the number of horses and how they are placed in relation to the carriage, from the Limonera mode (pulled by one horse), the trunk mode (log pulled by two horses), etc...., to the five-in-a-row mode. The most representative and spectacular horse-drawn events will later parade around the Real de la Feria.

The ladies of Seville dress the typical white mantilla shawl, a tradition that was forgotten in Spain and that has been recovered thanks to this exhibition. It is traditionally presided over by the Teniente de Hermano Mayor de la Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla, the Mayor of the Town and the President of the Royal Andalusian Horse-Drawn Club.
The exhibition of handling horse-drawn carriages has a great media impact, caused not only by the interest it arouses in the citizens of Seville but also by the great acceptance it has every year from visitors from other countries.

In addition to the exhibition, different events are held, where there is a relevant presence of institutions at the local and business level. We refer to the now traditional Gala Dinner, which takes place in the Carriage Museum of Seville, days before the exhibition, and where the Collerones (horse collars) are given, which are a distinction awarded annually, to institutions or individuals who have distinguished themselves by protecting and promoting carriage events. This distinction has been awarded, among others, to His Majesty the King, the Royal Cavalry of Seville, the Civil Guard Corps, the Duchess of Alba, etc.

To round off the exhibition, the last scheduled event is the presentation of trophies at the Real Maestranza de Caballería in Seville, which is attended by all the award winners, as well as all the collaborating institutions and sponsors of the event.
