Interpretation Centre

This is the first silo in Spain that has been restored and used as a museum and visitor centre. It has become a cultural infrastructure for landscape interpretation. This centre offers activities to interpret both the building in its landscape context and the town’s history.

The Zaframagón Interpretation Centre and Ornithological Observatory are located in the former Zaframagón train station. The Centre boasts a Video Surveillance Monitoring System of griffon vulture nesting site. A 360°-rotation, high-sensitivity, digital camera provides real-time images of the griffon vultures flying, feeding their chicks and nesting.

This is the museum of Villamanrique de la Condesa’s Confraternity of El Rocío. The exhibits highlight the age-old relationship of this Sevillian town with the El Rocío pilgrimage.

To help visitors understand the rich history of La Algaba, the Tourism department of the City Council organises guided tours at the “El Cielo Mudejar de La Algaba” Interpretation Centre located in the Tower of the Guzmanes.

In the Aljarafe-Doñana region, there are signs that suggest that as far back as Roman times, young, fruity wine with a dense texture and pale yellow colour was made in this land. It was this ancient civilisation, which left such a mark on the province of Seville, that began to ferment these wines in oak barrels.

Inaugurated in the summer of 2014, the Santa Ana Interpretation Centre is based in the Church of Santa Ana, which has been classified as an Asset of Cultural Interest (BIC). It shows the cultural, heritage, rural and nature tourism attractions of this municipality and its surroundings and is an information point for visitors.
