Mercedarios Descalzos del Corpus Christi Convent

The Convent of the Barefoot Mercedarians of Corpus Christi with its Conventual Church was built between 1604 and 1617 by Diego Pérez Alcaraz to house a community of Mercedarian friars.

Typical Sevillian manor house from the first half of the 19th century, donated by the Counts of Gomara to the Hermanas de la Cruz (Sisters of the Cross) in 1941 for the order's convent.
It has a neoclassical style façade, vestibule and central courtyard with marble columns.

San Rafael Church

This religious building has a naval structure and a very modern temple built after the Second Vatican Council. The high altar is presided over by the image of Our Lady of Solitude on a neo-baroque silver stand. This sculpture was made by Manuel Mazuecos and Juan Manuel Miñarro. The Christ of Forgiveness is situated in the side chapel.

Santiago is profoundly linked to Utrera’s origin as a city. The original church that stood opposite the Castle was the heart of present-day Utrera. According to the chronicles, the primitive church of Santiago was looted in the second half of the 14th century by Mohamed V of Granada.

This fortress, whose origins coincide with those of the city itself, dates back to the Moorish period, when it defended the north-south road towards Seville and reinforced the line of defence of the so-called Cora de Firrish, although there is evidence to suggest that it is based on the remains of an earlier Roman castrum and possibly other military structures that were built to take advantage

This small Mudejar church has a typical mountain architecture consisting of a single nave with transversal arches and a standalone main chapel. The chapel is covered with a dome crowned by a cupola that was added during the Baroque period. The main entrance, at the west end, is also Baroque. The pointed arch on the right wall, obscured by several adjacent rooms, is Mudejar.

Located in the upper part of the town, we cannot state with certainty its year of construction, as there are no data or records on it. From the church's death records, we can assume that the date of construction was between 1660 and 1670.
