Santa María de Gracia Church

The church is located in the uppermost part of the town, on the old street commonly known as El Porche. It has now been renamed as Don Juan de Dios Corrales Gálvez, who was the parish priest for fifty-three years. This beautiful baroque church from the 16th century was once a small chapel or private oratory of the Counts of Gelves.

The Parish Church of Santiago el Mayor was built in the 17th century and underwent several renovations during the 18th century.

Santa María Magdalena Parish Church

The former Mudejar parish church was destroyed by the 1755 Lisbon earthquake. Only the baroque Tabernacle and tower remain. In 1776, the current neoclassical Church was built in its place, under the directions of the architect Lucas Cintora.

The Church of Our Lady of Consolation is located in the Plaza Virgen de los Remedios.

Carmen Church

The 16th-century Church originally belonged to the convent of the Barefoot Carmelite Fathers. However, the remains from that time are negligible due to the extensive renovation carried out in the 18th century, and the reconstruction works between 1881 and 1883 that gave it a neoclassical feel.

Chapel of the Aurora

A traditional building with neoclassical influences, built in the eighteenth century. It has a Latin cross plan and a single nave covered with a dome. The high altar is presided over by the image of Our Lady of the Assumption, commonly known as the Virgen de la Aurora.

Santiago Church

The Santiago Church is in the town centre, not very far away from the Fortified Compound and the Santa María del Águila Church.

The foundations date back to 1500. The Gothic floor plan consists of three naves covered with rib vaults. Parts of the Church are Neoclassical (18th century).

It is one of the most significant buildings due to its architectural features.
