The Osuna May Fair was declared an Andalusian Festival of Tourist Interest by the Regional Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Sport in 2008. It is considered "a manifestation that helps advance the values and traditions of this municipality and of Andalusia, and promotes, develops and disseminate tourism".

The two-centuries-old Osuna May Fair usually takes place on the weekend closest to 15 May. It kicks off with the traditional and spectacular lighting of the enormous arch and the fairground on Wednesday. The arch has each year a different and innovative design.

A livestock and farm tools fair was the origin of the present-day event; however, it ceased to be held in 1977.
The Fair lasts four days, during which the daily activity comes to a standstill. The festive atmosphere of the fairground takes over everything. Many activities and events are organised, including the elegant horse-carriage parade on Friday. It starts at the iconic San Pedro Street and ends at the fairground. The equestrian shows that take place during the Fair also worthy of note.

The “Bullfight Festival” is a major event within the Fair. It is one of the most important in Spain, bringing together many celebrities from the bullfighting world. The best bulls and bullfighters participate in this event.

The city’s streets, in the shadow of beautiful towers and buildings, encourage quiet contemplation and admiration of its stone cityscape and fascinating combination of lights and colours, fragrances and sensations, stone and life. Furthermore, Osuna’s vast historical and cultural legacy is faithfully reflected in a rich heritage of incalculable value that the visitor must discover.
