Seville enchants

In the days before Pentecost, the town lives its main festival, “Villamanrique, Passing of the Confraternities”, declared an Andalusian Event of Tourist Interest. The town becomes the kilometre zero and official route to the Shrine of the “Blanca Paloma” in the village of El Rocío. This religious event and colourful tourist attraction have two centuries of history.

The Confraternity of the True Cross in Brenes has several display cases in which they exhibit the valuables of the Confraternity.

This exhibition space is divided into two levels and showcases the exceptional artistic heritage put together by this historical Confraternity, which dates back to the late 15th century. The collection primarily consists of one-of-a-kind objects worn by the titular images and other items used in the processions, including the floats.

Marchena’s Holy Week is famous for its many traditions. The images, accoutrement and participation of the Confraternities give the Holy Week a powerful appeal.

The Chapel of the Cruz de Arriba is located in the Plazoleta de la Cruz de Arriba. It is the seat of the Confraternity of the Santa Cruz de Arriba and María Santísima del Rosario, a 17th-century image.
