Flamenco Dance Museum

In Seville, the Flamenco Dance Museum is the first and only museum of its kind in the world. A modern museum that preserves ancient roots. Located in a beautiful 18th century building, it stands on the foundations of an ancient Roman temple.

Located at the highest point of the town, it uses a vaulted basement and a courtyard in the Ecijan style, unique in Seville. The walls of the museum were built over an urn containing the Bible, the Koran, the Talmud, and Hindu scriptures as a symbol of peace and understanding. The unique architecture and spirit of the building surrounds visitors once they enter the Museum.

The Flamenco Dance Museum is a unique experience where the several fields of this art form come together: dance, singing and guitar playing. Both in the interactive museum and in the shows, it contributes to the understanding of Flamenco, and incorporates the aesthetics of Flamenco in all publications, exhibitions and merchandise, thus creating a unique experience.

The museum, promoted by the dancer Cristina Hoyos, has permanent, temporary and tour exhibitions.
