Shrine to Virgen de la Milagrosa

This recently built traditional building (opened on 13 April 2008) is located at a municipally-owned property known as “La Suerte”, on the outskirts of the town. It houses the image of Our Lady of Miracles, highly revered in Cañada Rosal, whose pilgrimage takes place in May.

The Pilgrimage of Our Lady of Miracles, which first took place on 30 May 1965, was an initiative by the priest Fernando Flores Pistón to encourage the participation of the town’s youth. It was held in different venues until the Shrine was built in its current location. The event was first held at “La Suerte” farm in 2008, and, since then, it has been the venue for the traditional pilgrimage of the Virgen Mary.
